I can’t take it anymore! I live in Northern California. It’s supposed to be sunny and beautiful here, right? Nope! The rains have fallen on us aplenty this Fall and I can’t take it anymore! Yes, I’m SUCH a fair-weathered girl. I like it 82 degrees, sunny, with a light breeze and a few billowy clouds overhead. This rain just won’t do! And to top it off, I’ve been dealing with flooding around my house for the past few days. Calgon, take me away!
It’s time to drift off to dream land and go to a place where it’s beautiful and vacation-like all year round! Where else, but Jamaica!!! Ever since I watched the movie “Ghost” with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze and heard Demi Moore utter the words “Montego Bay”, I’ve wanted to go to Jamaica and find out for myself if it is romantic as they made it seem in the movie.
One of the top destinations in Jamaica is a resort called Round Hill. This world-famous estate was conceived by well-known Jamaican entrepreneur, John Pringle. The 100-acre peninsula was part of Lord Monson's Round Hill Estate which was first a sugar plantation and later changed over to coconuts and pimento (all spice) which are still produced today.

Twenty-nine acres were subdivided and prominent American and European socialites were invited to build "cottages" and invest in the hotel. Many celebrities and socialites vacation at Round Hill including Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell, Michael Douglas and Joan Collins.
Do you see where I’m going with this whole need for vacation thing?
Once you settle in, hop on down to their restaurant by the sea and have a candlelight dinner while watching a spectacular sunset.

The hotel operates with 27 villas being owned by individual "shareholders". Each villa is owned by someone rich or famous. Ralph Lauren is one of the shareholders. When the owners are not in residence the cottages are available for rent either as individual suites or complete two, three or four-bedroom cottages with or without pool. Villas have been formerly owned by legends like Paul Newman and Bing Crosby. A more affordable alternative is a room at Round Hill's Pineapple House Hotel.

Even John F. Kennedy loved Round Hill. He and Jackie Kennedy honeymooned there. He had a bit of a tan going there, don’t you think?
